Sam Ball

Hi! I'm Sam and I am so glad you are here. I started Stepping Stones Therapy because I have seen too many families and individuals feeling unseen in a rushed, one-size-fits-all approach. I wanted to create a space where therapy feels both deeply supportive and intentionally structured. Where people aren't just listened to, but are truly guided to take meaningful steps towards growth. I wanted to make sure there was a space where children, teens, and adults can build real skills, process challenges, and experience lasting growth.

My approach blends warmth with direction. We won't just talk about what's hard, we will work through it. I'll meet you with empathy but I'll also gently challenge patterns that are keeping you stuck. It is my belief that growth cannot truly happen until you feel safe enough to open up and I am here to provide that for you.

If you're looking for therapy that feels collaborative, grounded, and focused on meaningful change, then you are in the right place. Whether you are seeking support for your child, teen, or for yourself, Stepping Stones Therapy is here to help you take the next step forward.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and have spent the last decade supporting children, teens, and their families through some of their biggest challenges. With a background in school-based mental health, I've been able to collaborate with teams to give a deeper understanding of how struggles show up in all environments.

In addition to working with kids and teens, I also enjoy working with adults who are going through life transitions. By using evidence-based approaches, I work with my clients to figure out what works best for them by using a warm, direct, and collaborative approach.

When not in the therapy office, you can find me planning my next cruise trip, playing games, or walking my dog with my partner.

Evidence Based Practices I am trained in and often use are:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • PMT (Parent Management Training)
